Site Safety Supervisor Scheme (SSSTS)This course is for supervisors, foreman, gangers, and those who have or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. The aim and objective of this course is to ensure that all those given supervisory responsibilities understand the following health and safety duties imposed upon them at this managerial level:
• Why they are carrying out their identified duties and;
• What is expected of them and;
• To ensure that they contribute to the safe workplace
By the end of the course successful delegates will be able to demonstrate:
• An understanding of the problems within industry
• An understanding of how health and safety law is structured
• How their supervisory role fits in with the manager in controlling the site safety
• Completion of risk assessments and understanding the need for method statement briefings
• Understanding of what is meant by proactive and reactive monitoring.
Following successful completion of individual final examination delegates will receive the Site Safety Plus Construction Site Supervisors Safety Certificate.
This qualification has been recognised and endorsed by the Major Contractors Group (MCG). It is their intention to accept this qualification as the minimum recognised proof of competence for personnel employed in a supervisory role. This is expected within their own organisations and thoughout their supply chains.
